Introduction:
Topi Heal is composed of three proven homoeopathic medicines: Echinacea, Calendula and Millefolium. They are widely used as medicinal plants in traditional and folk medicines. They are also used in homoeopathy for their wound-healing, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties as external treatment in various skin conditions. The combination is effective for the treatment of wounds, cuts, sore-nipples, nappy rashes and prevention of skin ulcerations due to varicose veins or bed-sores.
External Manifestations And Coverage:
Physical damage can disrupt the integrity of the skin, causing immediate symptoms such as pain and bleeding. Micro-organisms may enter through the lesions and cause wound infections with purulent excretion and eventually sepsis. Topi Heal reduces bleeding, relieves the pain, prevents microbial infections and accelerates the healing of skin and tissue.
During breast-feeding, the skin of the nipples is mechanically stressed. Additionally, the baby’s sputum has an irritating effect. This can lead to nipple soreness with redness and pain, in severe cases cracking and ulceration. Application of Topi Heal reduces pain and tenderness. The cream should be used after breast-feeding and the remaining cream should be removed before the baby is nursed again.
Nappy Rash is an inflammation of the skin in the baby's nappy area. It is caused by the irritating effect of urine and faeces. Fungal infections might be involved leading to painful open lesions. Because of its good wound-healing properties, Topi Heal helps the skin to recover and protects it from new irritations. It should be applied when the first sign of nappy rash appears. The baby’s skin should be kept as dry and exposure to air should be allowed as often as possible.
Varicose veins are very common, including Haemorrhoids (piles) and Varicocele. They are caused by weakness of connective tissues, valve malfunction or inadequate venous return. Varicose veins are most often seen in the leg veins, which become dilated and appear slightly twisted or tortuous. Symptoms are pain and heaviness of the legs and swelling of feet and ankles. In cases of chronic venous insufficiency, congestion of skin and oedema, pigmentation, formation of scaly eruptions (eczema-like) and ulceration (Ulcus cruris) may occur. Topi Heal can be used to prevent ulcerations and for the treatment of mild forms of varicose veins.
Bed-sores is a typical condition in patients, usually elderly, resting in bed for a long period of time. It can also be caused by plaster casts or splints. Common locations are heels, elbows, shoulders, buttocks and lower end of the spine. Constant pressure on the skin and subcutaneous tissue is responsible for insufficient blood supply. This can lead to the development of broken skin, ulceration and finally necrosis. Topi Heal can be used to prevent ulcerations and for the treatment of mild forms of bed sores.
